Golden Meals New Site Location

The Northwestern Illinois Community Action Agency (N.I.C.A.A.) Golden Meals Program provides healthy meals to senior citizens aged 60 and over at 4 meal sites in Carroll County, Jo-Daviess, Stephenson, and Whiteside counties.

For the past 20+ years the Carroll County Golden Meals site has been located at Mest Manor. However, as of June 21, 2021, the meal site has officially moved to their new home located at 411 Main Street in downtown Savanna, IL.

Previously, per a contract between CCHA and N.I.C.A.A., all Mest Manor residents (elderly and disabled with no age requirement) were eligible to receive the meals. However, as the meal site is no longer here at Mest Manor and the contract is no longer in effect, only residents that are aged 60 and over will qualify to have the home delivered meals.

For CCHA residents that do qualify for the meals; we will continue to have meal sign up sheets located in our Mest Manor Dining Room, and the meals placed in the refrigerator in the dining room. For our residents that are NOT aged 60 and over, you may still receive the meal, however, you will need to go to the new location (411 Main Street) to enjoy your meal in their newly renovated dining room.

The suggested donation is $3.00 per meal. Acceptable methods of payment is cash, check, or an Illinois EBT Link Card.
